OUR WORKSHOPS
Urban Sketching in the home of the Beatles
Live Workshop. Saturday, Dec 4, 9am PT
Doors close Fri, Dec 3, 5pm PT
Description
Learn the art of urban sketching in the heart of Liverpool on the historic street where the Beatles first played! With wit and charm, Ian Fennelly will teach you to capture the story of any location in ink and watercolor — a must for travelers.
One of our most popular instructors, Ian will show you how to create compelling compositions from any complex scene. Create a visual story of an iconic street, using a simple outline as an initial framework and adding personality through detail.
Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, learn step-by-step techniques that you can apply to any street scene, anywhere in the world! Ian will share how he brings the history of a location into his art.
Use a variety of drawing materials, including watercolors, markers, fineliner pens and more. The process will be broken down into several clear steps and you’ll complete a beautiful watercolor painting during the workshop.

“The sketch a pub workshop with Ian was fantastic. He is such a good teacher and just a delight to listen to. His enthusiasm is very inspiring. This workshop provided pre-recorded videos to look at before the live workshop which was extremely helpful. All around, a great way to spend three hours!!”
