Don’t be intimidated by drawing faces. Learn the art of making expressive and highly creative portraits...fast!
Instructor Julie Johnson honed her craft at fashion shows and has taught portraiture at top art schools around the world. She’s going to show you how to draw faces in line, shape, and color, capturing unique features with a variety of materials and a ton of style.
Working quickly, you’ll use watercolor, India ink, and graphite, drawing 9 portraits during the live workshop.
There won’t be time to second guess yourself...you’ll be having too much fun!
Learn techniques and tricks to draw faces on the go, then develop your unique portraiture style and point of view. Soon you’ll be confidently capturing faces in the time it takes to snap a photo.

Julie Johnson is a widely published artist and illustrator who has exhibited her portraiture and figurative work internationally. She has won awards from the Society of Illustrators and Communication Arts Annual for Illustration. Her work is included in several books that showcase the work of the best fashion illustrators working today, including Fashion Drawing and The Art of Fashion Illustration.
