Is drawing a form of meditation? It can be, when you do it this way.

Meditation doesn’t always have to be about sitting cross-legged and chanting Om. There are walking meditations, doing Yoga can be a meditation, and drawing can also be a way of inducing a calm, relaxed state. Sketchbook Skool co-founder Danny Gregory talked about drawing as a meditation with fakulty member Prashant Miranda (who was in India, birthplace of meditation and Yoga, so he should know) in this interview. This week, Danny’s klass in our Seeing kourse was about slowing down and really looking at your subject. In this Study Hall, Sketchbook Skool co-founder Koosje Koene takes a cue from that lesson and has a meditation session with a dip pen, purple ink, and a glorious cross-section of cabbage.

Yes, drawing can be a meditation, and you’ll feel the calm vibes as you watch this video.
