Study Hall: How to Draw a Building

By

In this week’s Study Hall, Sketchbook Skool co-founder Koosje Koene shows you how to draw a building in her Amsterdam neighborhood using a secret she learned from Urban Sketcher and SBS fakulty member Liz Steel.

In Liz’s Urban Sketching klass, she shows how looking for the patterns in objects from teacups to buildings can help you construct drawings, adding perspective and dimension without sacrificing flow and style. She also teaches the value of an important first step: making thumbnail sketches. After you see what Koosje does with them, you’ll want to do thumbnails before all your sketches!

You can take Liz’s klass too—check out our Urban Sketching kourse.
