SketchBook Club: British Nature Diaries

By

Get some popcorn: This week’s SketchBook Club starts with a short film about drawing in nature—the subject of books by Edith Holden, Muriel Foster and Richard Bell.

But first, sit back, relax, and watch Sketchbook Skool co-founder Danny Gregory sketching in the park, accompanied by lovely music (and squirrels). Trivia: cinematography by Danny’s son, Jack Tea Gregory!

Then it’s back to the library for a look at nature artwork. Now that you’ve watched (and finished your popcorn), we hope this inspires you to go outside and sketch! And we’ll have more inspiration for you to draw outside starting next week. Make sure you tune into the blog and the Sketchbook Skool News page for a special announcement!

Here are the books Danny discusses:

Nature Notes of an Edwardian Lady by Edith Holden

The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady

Muriel Foster’s Fishing Diary

Rough Patch by Richard Bell
