We like to keep Sketchbook Skool students busy in and out of the klassroom. This month, we began a new project sending out weekly emails that contain miniature drawing assignments. We look to our stellar fakulty to inspire drawing prompts that get your creative juices flowing and keep you out of a drawing rut while we are in between semesters here at Skool. Below, take a look at a recent assignment from instructor Prashant Miranda, and some of the fabulous drawings that our students created in response!

Scrutinize a tree. A winter tree, a spring tree, a summer tree or an autumn tree. Observe it’s structure, texture and colour. Sketch it out in whatever medium you want, and if you have time, colour it. See how you can incorporate the layers of foliage, or bring about the season in which the tree lives. I love trees, and it would be wonderful to see your trees too!
