We are so excited to present these four new amazing instructors in our latest course, Mixed Media Journaling, which kicks off November 11! Read a little more about them below and check out their websites to get to know their art…

Mary Beth Shaw swore off Art Journaling for many years until 2013 when she suddenly had little time to make her own artwork. She started slowly but then found great solace in her journal. Today she teaches many types of workshops, but her heart swells when sharing journal techniques.

Seth Apter is a mixed media artist, instructor, author and designer from New York City who creates and exhibits his art, and travels all over the world to teach Mixed Media workshops. He is also an instructor at Pratt Institute and loves finding inspiration all over NYC. He designs product lines with several companies and is always thrilled to see people use his stamps, stencils, mediums, and paints.

Kecia Deveney is a published mixed media artist, instructor and world traveler, living at the Jersey Shore. As a Mixed Media Artist, her eclectic style can be seen in fabric and textiles, jewelry design, sculpture-work and painting. Creating is pivotal to Kecia and becomes, for her, art therapy. As an educator, it is important to Kecia to teach her students to look beyond being perfect, to be more involved in the ongoing process of creating and leave insecurities behind.

Nathalie Kalbach is a German-born self-taught mixed media artist now living in Jersey City, NJ. Nathalie’s early love of paint was squelched by an art teacher who told her she had no talent. She worked as a paralegal for seventeen years and might have remained in the wrong profession had she not discovered mixed media painting in 2004. Since 2006, Nathalie has taught workshops all over the world, and enjoys sharing what she knows about tools, supplies and techniques, with the goal of helping each student unlock his/her personal creativity.

We are thrilled to make art with these new artists and can’t wait to see what t hey inspire you to create! Sign up to join us in class. See you on November 11!
