Draw Tip Tuesday: Drawing People on the Move

By

In this week’s Draw Tip Tuesday, Sketchbook Skool co-founder Koosje Koene will show you a simple trick for one of the most challenging types of drawing: sketching people in movement.

Capturing basic gestures is the key to sketching people in motion. Once you get the hang of that, you can start understanding the mechanics of figures on the go. Filling them in with just a few lines to elaborate on the basics will give you sketches that are loose but clear! Practice these, and you’ll soon get in the flow of drawing people in a variety of moves and gestures.

Start by capturing gestures from photos, and then go for the big time: outdoor people sketching! And remember, the more you practice, the better you’ll get.
