Sure, you could go to the store and buy Valentine’s Day cards. But you’re artists now; you can actually make your own Valentine’s Day cards. Think about it: We give people valentines to tell them how much we love them, right? Cards you make yourself convey love in a unique, rich way. You put time, effort, and most important, your creativity into cards you make yourself. Why not give it a try?

To help you along, beloved Sketchbook Skool teacher Jane LaFazio shared this mini-lesson on DIY Valentines, including information on what kind of paper to use, how to get your designs sized and printed correctly, and more. If you like making crafts, she also has this mini-lesson on making cloth Valentines. Both are especially fun to make with kids, and we want to see what you make! Please share your DIY Valentines with us and your fellow students on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram with the hashtag #sbsvalentines!
